We are all in a war.
And so far,
we are all surviving.
There are invisible bullets in the air
they smell like love
and are hidden in magic cloaks
sometimes
the horror of falling in love with someone
is hidden by the sweet scent of their touch
and the sincerity of their laughter.
Falling in love can be like falling face first on landmines.
We all have a quick sense of what we're falling for
but there's no way to avoid the heart gashes
and broken souls
and tangled brains
We are all in a war
and so far,
our hearts may be empty
our souls imprisoned
and our brains washed until no memories could be thought of
but we are still surviving
count the breaths you hold before
falling face first.
sometimes
sometimes
loving a landmine may be the
easiest way to know you're still alive.
